There are universal questions which resonate in me, which are at the heart of my most primary femininity. The body, as a conscious entity, becomes the link and the place through which the Origin passes and where the cosmic dialogue connects.
Starting from the very general and ancestral questions, I am interested in exploring why life emerges. How do forms of conscious life develop? How do we link Earth and the cosmos?. For the Kogi community in Colombia’s Sierra Nevada mountains “the earth is a living body with veins and blood. Destroying certain places is like cutting a limb, dismembering a body. ”
My research finds deep meaning in indigenous communities, trance rituals, nature, mythology, germinal biology, environnemental sciences, cosmology. Using clay is my starting point for a particular way of expression and as part of a wider practice. It is like exploring the the Origin as “MOMENTUM”, the impulse that makes it possible.
In my practice, I mix minerals as carbon, stones, wax layers, and natural symbolic elements like eggs or butterflies. Each element is chosen and used for its material qualities as well as for its energy and allegorical component. Precisely balanced, the assembly reveals an esoteric study. I conceive my work as an ecosystem, like a group of interconnected and interdependent elements in continuous transformation.
